Our Pastor

W.R. Sonny Buckingham has pastored Rock of Helps Church since 1984. Previously Pastor Buckingham pastored Lake View Community Church for eight years. He also pastored at Gospel Outreach for one year. Pastor Buckingham has been a minister in Parker County for 35 years, and has had an effective ministry with young people all over Parker County. He was bailiff for the District Court and Grand Jury for years. For the past 33 years Pastor Buckingham has been the chaplain at the Parker County Jail and has become involved enough to become a certified officer and a certified jailer. Pastor Buckingham now works as a full time chaplain at the Sheriff's Office. Every week he holds three to four services at the jail for inmates, and regular services at the Rock of Helps Church. Pastor Sonny and Diana have been married for 44 years. They have four grown children, and seven grandchildren. Pastor Buckingham contributes the results of his ministry to his staff, the support of his wife, and the church body. He believes Jesus is the answer to all our needs.
